Oldham Theater in Sparta TN
The Oldham Theater in Sparta TN is a historic theater that was originally constructed in the 1930s. The theater was then renovated in 2001 by the city with a grant from the Tennessee Department of Transportation. Now listed in the U.S. National Register of Historic Places, the Oldham Theater operated as a movie theater until the 1970s.
The renovation in 2001 consisted of two phases. The first phase included a renovation of the façade and a welcome center. A replica of the original marquee was incorporated into the new design. The second phase of the remodel included new audio and visual technology that allowed the building to serve its entertainment purpose.
